Try DARKSTAR in your browser

A live, playable preview running on a Web Audio engine. It's lighter than the full native engine — fewer voices, less headroom — but the core synthesis, the workflow and the complete factory library are the same.

Before you dive in

A few terms you'll meet inside

DARKSTAR has three signature systems with their own names. Here's what they mean before you go looking for them in the synth above.

  • SING

    Singularities

The patches in the browser at the top of the synth. Loading one changes the whole sound at once — oscillators, filter and modulation together.

  • ANOM

    Anomalizer

Hit "Anomalize!" to nudge the current patch into a related but different-sounding variation, instead of tweaking every knob by hand.

  • SHIFT

    Stellar Shift

Morphs the whole patch from Patch A into Patch B over a duration you set, with up to 64 checkpoints along the way. Save any checkpoint as its own patch, or record the whole transition as a sound.

About the browser build

Factory library
All 5,000 factory patches are loaded here — the same library the full version ships with.
Audio path
The same C++ core as the desktop build, running through WebAssembly and an AudioWorklet.
Status
Technology preview. The first working host adapter is in; broader browser acceptance is still in progress.
MIDI
Plug in a controller and play — availability depends on your browser’s Web MIDI support.

Like what you hear?

The full engine runs native, with more voices and more headroom.
